Waterproofing
POLYURETHANE WATERPROOFING
A liquid waterproof coating applied using an airless spraying system, ideal for surfaces exposed to weathering, abrasion, and corrosion, ideal for areas WHERE other applications would be hard to reach
Bituminous Waterproofing (Torch-on)
Bituminous waterproofing, commonly known as torch-on waterproofing, is a highly effective method used to protect surfaces from water infiltration. It involves the application of bitumen-based membranes to roofs, foundations, or other structures that need to be sealed against water. The bituminous membranes are typically made of modified bitumen (a form of asphalt) and are designed to form a strong, durable, and impermeable layer.
How it works:
1.Preparation of the Surface: The surface to be waterproofed is first cleaned and prepared to ensure proper adhesion of the membrane. This step may involve cleaning debris, repairing cracks, and smoothing the surface.
2.Torching the Membrane: The bituminous membrane comes in rolls, which are unrolled and applied to the surface. A propane torch is used to heat the underside of the membrane as it is unrolled, causing the bitumen to melt and bond firmly to the substrate. This creates a seamless, watertight layer.
3.Multiple Layers (if required): For additional protection, multiple layers of the membrane may be applied, ensuring a stronger, more durable waterproofing system.
Benefits of Bituminous Waterproofing:
- Durability: Torch-on membranes are highly resistant to weather, UV rays, and physical wear, making them long-lasting solutions for waterproofing.
- Seamless Protection: The process creates a continuous membrane without seams, which minimizes the risk of water leaks.
- Flexibility: The membranes are flexible, allowing them to expand and contract with temperature changes without cracking.
- Effective in Extreme Conditions: It provides excellent waterproofing, even in areas prone to heavy rain or extreme moisture.
Common Applications:
- Roofs: Bituminous waterproofing is commonly used on flat or low-sloped roofs to protect against leaks.
- Foundations: It is also used on foundation walls to prevent water ingress.
- Balconies and Terraces: Any area exposed to water can benefit from torch-on waterproofing.
LIQUID RUBBER WATERPROOFING
Liquid Rubber Waterproofing is a type of flexible, seamless, and durable waterproofing system applied in liquid form, which cures to form a robust, rubber-like membrane. It is widely used to protect roofs, foundations, walls, and other surfaces from water penetration and moisture damage.
Ease of Application:
Liquid rubber is typically applied using a brush, roller, or airless sprayer, making it easy to cover large surfaces with minimal effort. The application process does not require complex equipment, which can make it more cost-effective than other types of waterproofing.
